James Franklin Thompson, 88, of Bentonville, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Montvue Nursing Home, Luray, VA.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 11 at 2:00 PM in the Thompson Family Cemetery in Bentonville with Sammy Campbell officiating.
James was born on July 25, 1924 in Bentonville, the son of the late James Ernest and Charlotte Tyler Thompson.
He retired as a farm hand for Flint Run Farms. He loved cats and his farm family.
Surviving are five brothers, Bobby Thompson of Front Royal, Jack Thompson of Winchester, John Thompson and Phillip Thompson of Rileyville, Richard (Dickie) Thompson of Bentonville; three sisters, Alta Lee Miller of Front Royal, Jean Arrington of Maryland, and Ann King of Rileyville; a dear friend, Beverly Rudacille and his special friend, Diane Coffee.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Thompson; and sisters, Mary Yates, Judy Crites, Helen Lentz and Ruby Thompson.
Arrangements are being handled by Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal, VA.
