John M. Tennett, 74, of Winchester, VA, died on Friday, February 21, 2014.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 28, at 11:00 a.m. at Prospect Hill Cemetery conducted by Sammy Campbell. A reception will follow the graveside service at the Front Royal Moose Lodge.
Mr. Tennett was born September 14, 1939 in Front Royal, VA, son of the late James Richard Tennett, Sr. and Lucille Madge Tobin Tennett. He retired as a truck driver and worked for All Freight Delivery Service. Mr. Tennett was a member of Front Royal Loyal Order of Moose
Lodge 829 since 1967 and Winchester Eagles Aerie 824 since 2009. He was married to the late Pauline Virginia Tennett.
Surviving are three daughters, Tammy Pearsall of Front Royal, Tina Hall and Freddie Andrick of Winchester and Teresa Pullen and husband Bruce of Front Royal; three sons Johnnie Tennett and wife Elizabeth of Cross Junction, Ronnie Tennett and wife Esta of Winchester, and Danny Tennett of Winchester; two brothers Joseph Tennett and Robert Tennett, Sr. of Front Royal; John's companion Nellie; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Joyce Ricci; a brother James R. Tennett; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 27, from 7-9 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal.
