John R. Eubank Jr. of Sperryville, VA, passed away peacefully at Winchester Medical Center the morning of Wednesday, April 10, 2013.
He was born June 13, 1937 to the late Frances Grimsley Eubank and John R. Eubank Sr. of Washington, VA.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert S. Eubank, and Ernest L. Eubank; his sister, Mary Hudson; and two nephews, Michael Hudson and Earl Menefee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Peggy Eubank and her daughters, Becky Smith, Christine Allred and her husband Ryan; two grandsons, Fletcher and James Allred; his sister, Betty Koplaski; two nieces, Sandra Hudson and Mary Corder Smith and her husband Terry; and many great nieces and nephews, and family and friends.
John was a lifelong and founding member of the Sperryville Fire Department. He belonged to the Order of the Free Masons and the Loyal Order of the Moose. He was a partner in Sperryville Realty and an active member of the Rappahannock County Convalescent Loan Closet. He drove a school bus for Rappahannock County Public Schools for over 45 years. John's true calling though, was behind a pair of barber shears enjoying time spent with all his loyal customers and friends. He was the owner and operator of Sperryville Barber Shop for over 50 years.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 13, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Sara Keeling and Rev. Philip Bailey officiating.
Interment will follow at Flint Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Flint Hill, VA with fellowship to be held immediately thereafter at the Sperryville Fire Hall.
