Lisa Lynn Borden Wells, 49, of Romney, WV, died Monday, March 18, 2013, as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born June 30, 1963 in Woodstock, VA, a daughter of the late Cecil Ulysses Borden and Alice Elizabeth Coffman.
Lisa was born and raised in Woodstock Virginia, marrying Scott in 1987 and soon thereafter moved to Havre de Grace, MD. They moved back to Romney in 1990. Lisa was a member of the Romney First United Methodist Church and worked for the Hampshire County Health Department for the past 15+ years. In her job she was very active in fundraising and other activities that occurred outside the office. Lisa loved the outdoors and all the critters in it. She was the type who stopped to move a turtle out of the road or bring home a stray cat. She enjoyed hunting mushrooms and was fascinated by all aspects of nature.
Lisa had a very giving heart to all, particularly those in need. Her family was the center of her world; her husband and children lovingly recall her giving spirit and the wonder Christmas held for her. While she will be deeply missed, thoughts and memories of her will be a tremendous comfort.
She is survived by her husband, D. Scott Wells of Romney; her mother, Alice Borden Elm of Woodstock, VA; her son, Nathan Scott Wells and his wife Katie Elizabeth of Romney; her daughter, Megan Michelle Wells of Romney; two brothers, Jerry and Nelson Borden, both of Woodstock, VA; and two sisters, Patsy Whetzel and Robin Miller, both of Edinburg, VA.
She is preceded in death by her father.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Shaffer's in Romney.
The funeral will be conducted Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, with Rev. Roy Knight officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Romney.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hampshire Animal Control, Rt. 1, Box 162-B, Paw Paw, WV 25434.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, WV.
