Loring L. "George" Pingley, 90, of Winchester, passed away on February 14, 2013 at a local nursing home.
Mr. Pingley was born on November 15, 1922 in Winchester, VA to the late Loring L. and Elsie Barham Pingley.
He served in the United States Army during WWII
He married the late Eva Carper.
George retired from C&P Telephone Construction Department after more than 36 years of service. His memberships included the National Rifle Association, Telephone Pioneers and Frederick County Conservation Club. He was an avid NASCAR and Sprint Car fan.
He is survived by a very special family, the Godlove's, Kathi and Wayne, their daughter Emily and her daughter Hailey.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday afternoon one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Dobbins officiating. Private burial will be at Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
