Paulette Blanche (Epinal) Maggiolo(1922 - 2018)

Paulette Blanche Maggiolo, 96, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, August 28, 2018 at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania, Scranton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony, in 1982.

Born in Le Mans, France in 1922, she was the daughter of Ferdinand and Blanche Epinal.

In France, she finished college, and later immigrated to the United States, after World War II, to marry the love of her life. She always remained proud of her French heritage, and while she returned to France often, she was proud of becoming an American citizen.

Paulette was an educator and author. She taught well into her 80's, having obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees, and her D.M.L. from Middlebury College, Vermont. She taught for many years at Leonia High School in New Jersey, and later, after moving to Virginia at Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock.

In 2012, Paulette moved to Archbald to be close to her daughter. She moved into Elan Gardens in Clark's Summit in 2013, where she remained until August 1 of this year.

Paulette is survived by her three children, Denise Phostole, Montville, NJ, Daniel and Kimberly Maggiolo, Harrisonburg, VA, and Annette and Peter Jadus, Archbald. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Alexander Phostole, Christopher, Steven, and Samantha Maggiolo, and Anthony and Amber Jadus; as well as her sister, Denise Marcet, in France; her sister-in-law, Louise Contini, Dover, DE; and numerous nieces and nephews in France and the United States.

Her children would like to thank the staff of Elan Gardens who provided an exceptional warm, caring, and supportive environment to their mother in her later years. They would also like to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, for their tremendous support and care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elan Gardens, Venard Road, Clark's Summit, PA 18411 in Paulette's memory.

At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation or viewing.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Louis J Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church St., Archbald, PA.

Services will be private.
