Peggy Jane (Walker) Brill(1932-2014)

Peggy Jane Walker Brill passed away on February 1, 2014 in Bridgewater, Virginia.

She was born on March 21, 1932 in Wardensville, WV to parents of the late Norman Walker & Dora Halterman Walker.

Peggy was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Wardensville. She graduated from Wardensville High School in 1951. She retired after 19 years of service in Accounting with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, DC. After retiring, she relocated to Winchester, Virginia, and more recently to the Bridgewater Retirement Community in beautiful Bridgewater, VA.

She is survived by her youngest sister, Judith Walker Farmer (Wendell) and her sisters-in-law Lula Walker, Barbara Walker and Elizabeth Walker; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces/nephews.

Peggy is preceded in death by her loving son, Robert Stanley Brill, her siblings Alma Walker Dogantzis and her husband William, Boyd Walker and his wife Peggy, Norman Walker, Jr., James Walker and his wife Aileen, William Walker and David Walker.

Peggy tragically lost her only son, Robert, when he was just 20 years old. She bore her grief with quiet dignity and poise for 40 years.

A funeral service will be at the Loy-Giffin Funeral Home in Wardensville, WV on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be Pastor David Twedt. Interment will be at the Greenfield Cemetery in Wardensville, WV.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
