Robert "Bob" Thomas Carbaugh, 76, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Monday, August 26, 2013, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Carbaugh was born in 1937, in Fulton County, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Danny E. and Lillian M. Carbaugh.
Mr. Carbaugh was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army
from 1955-1958, achieving the rank of Staff Sgt. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator with Perry Engineering. Mr. Carbaugh was a member of The Church at Waterlick, Winchester Frederick County Conservation Club, the North American Hunting Club. He was featured as a Trail Blazer for the Parkinson's Disease Support Group for his 20 years with Parkinson's.
He married Betty Irene Crouse on November 28, 1959, in Hancock, Maryland.
Surviving with his wife is his son, Harry Carbaugh, of Winchester, Virginia; two grandsons, Ryan Scott Carbaugh and Cody Allen Carbaugh; a sister, Jessie Unger, of Hagerstown, Maryland and a brother, Elmer Carbaugh, of McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Four brothers, Harold Carbaugh, John Carbaugh, Danny Carbaugh and Harry Carbaugh preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 AM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Pastor Larry Miller officiating. Interment will be at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Frederick County, Virginia.
