Eddie Wisecarver, 86, of Berryville, VA, died Friday, January 18, 2013, in the Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Wisecarver was born August 12, 1926 in Winchester, VA, the son of the late Maurice Franklin Wisecarver, Sr. and Camille Capper Wisecarver.
He was a graduate of Berryville High School, Class of 1945, where he lettered in football.
He worked at Wisecarver's Gent Shop from the 1940s-1970s. He later worked at the Charles Town Races and for the United States Postal Service before retiring in 1992.
He married Anne Duvall Fishpaw on November 2, 1947 in Berryville, VA. Mrs. Wisecarver died May 10, 2012.
Surviving are a daughter, Brenda W. Johnson and her husband Mike of Midlothian, VA; a son, Stephen E. Wisecarver and his wife Karen of Boyce, VA; two grandchildren, Andy Heflin and his wife Julie and Scott Heflin and his wife, Mindy; and three great grandchildren.
A sister, Camille C. Wisecarver; a brother, Maurice F. Wisecarver, Jr.; and his beloved dog, Mona, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 22, 2013, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. at the Berryville Baptist Church and a memorial service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Stanley officiating. A fellowship meal will follow the memorial service in the church social hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lord Fairfax Community College Education Foundation, Edward and Anne Wisecarver Memorial Scholarship, 173 Skirmisher Lane, Middletown, VA 22645, or to the Berryville Baptist Church, 114 Academy Street, Berryville, VA 22611.
