William Arthur Pangle Jr.

William Arthur Pangle, Jr. age 88 of Strasburg passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010 at his residence.

A funeral service for Mr. Pangle will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, June 28, 2010 at the Lebanon Lutheran Church with Rev. Lee Brumback officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon Church Cemetery.

He was born in Lebanon Church on August 7, 1921 a son of the late William A, Sr. & Lillie Virginia Hockman Pangle. He was a member of the Lebanon Lutheran Church. He was a former employee of National Fruit, Avtex, and spent most of his life working as a farmer. He was a member of the Strasburg Moose Lodge #403. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Hugh Pangle, and three sisters, Marie Fewell, Lois Tiffany, and Mildred Glaize.

Survivors include his loving wife, Grace Lavonne Gochenour Pangle of Strasburg; his children, Carolyn Hitt and husband, Billy, Richard W. Pangle, Delbert G. Pangle and wife, Brenda, and James R. Pangle all of Strasburg; a sister, Anna Lee Funkhouser of Arlington, VA; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Michael Pangle, Carl Pangle, Jeremy Pangle, Tom Hodges, Scott Myers, and Jim Alexiou.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Hockman, and Larry Funkhouser.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home from 4-6 PM Sunday evening.
