Clarence Jerome "Jerry" Sirbaugh, 73, of Winchester, VA, passed peacefully at the Winchester Medical Center on Sunday, November 11, 2012.

Jerry was born December 30, 1938 in Winchester, VA, the son of the late Ira W. and Ruth Slonaker Sirbaugh Taylor.

He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1957­1961 as an Airman First Class. He retired from National Fruit Product Company after working over thirty years as a truck driver and shipping /warehousing supervisor. After his retirement he began a new career as a Frederick County School Bus Driver. For over ten years he drove the bus for the special needs children up until just a few days prior to his death.

Jerry and the love of his life, Phyllis Compher, were planning to be wed in June 2013. Although their time was short they both knew that they had found the eternal love. Deep within their hearts there will remain an everlasting treasure.

Along with his fiancee, Phyllis of Winchester and her two sons, Tommy Compher and his companion, Debbie Kirkbride of Winchester and Duane Compher and his wife, Teresa, of Berryville, VA, he is survived by a son, Michael J. Sirbaugh of Panama City, FL; two daughters, Barbara S. Miller and her husband, Mark and Judy A. Sirbaugh, both of Winchester; three grandchildren, M. Tyler Giles, Corey E. Giles and Barren L. Long, II; and two sisters, Judy S. Russell and her husband, Glen of Clear Brook and Jane S. Mihm and her husband, Joe of Lakeland, FL.

Jerry began his Moose Membership January 1, 1984 and held offices of Assistant Sgt. of Arms, Sgt. of Arms, Jr. Governor, Governor, Jr. Past Governor and Trustee, earning him his Merit Award. He earned his Fellowship Degree and conferred at Moose Heart, IL in 1993. He served on several committees including Membership, Civic Affairs, Entertainment Committee and the Christmas Basket Drive. He joined the Shenandoah Valley Legion of the Moose #47 in 1985. He was a member of the "Moose 25 Club" achieving 75 members signed through 2005. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #824 and he attended the Winchester Church of God.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, November 14, 2012, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Calvin H. Lowder officiating. Entombment will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Duane Compher, Tommy Compher, Corey Giles, Matthew Russell, Joshua Russell and Jonathan Ponson.
