Dale Carl Rotruck, 62, of Cross Junction, VA died on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Rotruck was born on January 15, 1952 in Winchester, VA, a son of the late W. Carl and Myra Leatherman Rotruck.

He was a veteran in the United States Army during Vietnam War era, worked for Valley Proteins in Winchester, VA for 23 years, member of the National Rifle Association and Virginia Gun Owners Coalition. He was a half owner and crew chief of the #88 Race Car in the Challenger Division during the 70ás, Redskins fan, outdoorsman, born to fish and hunt.

Mr. Rotruck married his first wife, Leann Hardesty, on June 30, 1973. Leann died on February 29, 2004.

Mr. Rotruck married his second wife, Connie Steele, on January 29, 2011.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Robert C. Rotruck of Bluemont, VA and Adam Rotruck (Hannah) of Stephens City, VA; a grandson, Rayden Thor Rotruck; two step-daughters, Lilli Harden of Rio, WV and Cassandra Williamson of Moorefield, WV; two sisters, Betty R. Fout (Arthur) and Carol R. Marple (Billy) all of Winchester, VA; three step-grandchildren; three nieces; two great-nieces; and four great-nephews.


A funeral service will be held at the Giffin Funeral Home in Capon Bridge, WV on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Gregory R. Kenny. Interment will be at the Knobley Memorial Gardens near New Creek, WV.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 18, 2014 from 6-8 PM.
