Harry Lawrence Brittingham, age 83, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Saturday, December 07, 2013 at Harrisonburg Health and Rehab Center, Harrisonburg.

A funeral service for Mr. Brittingham will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church with Pastor Jonathan Boynton officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery with full military honors by Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg.

He was born in Delaware on March 2, 1930, a son of Ruby Hammond Brittingham.

He was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, a U.S Army Veteran and retired from Shenandoah County Public School System where he worked in maintenance. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 1860 of Front Royal, VA, Bee Keepers Association, a devoted husband, grandfather and lifelong farmer.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Suewatta Beydler Brittingham.

Survivors include two sons, Jan Brittingham and wife, April of Toms Brook, and Kim Brittingham and wife, Carolyn of Strasburg; two daughters, Mondia Myers and husband, Steven of Strasburg and Irene Brittingham of Woodstock; five grandchildren, Taylor Brittingham, Eric Brittingham, Cassie Myers, Joseph Brittingham and Brandi Miller and husband, Frank; and his two beloved cats, Socks and Tiger.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Baker, John Sharp, Frankie Wright, Taylor Brittingham, Eric Brittingham, and Brandon Rudolph.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6-8 PM.
