Joseph "JB" Borden Crabill, Jr., Ret. USCG BMC E-7, 74, of LaMarque, Texas, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 in Rosharon, Texas.

He was born September 25, 1939 in Washington D.C. to Joseph and Caroline Crabill. JB was raised in Toms Brook by Harry and June Bemis. He attended Toms Brook School and graduated from Woodstock High School. He was a member of the Toms Brook United Methodist Church.

JB served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was stationed in Milford Haven, Virginia, Gwyns Island, Virginia, Portsmouth, Virginia and Galveston, Texas where he retired.

JB retired from the Texas Department of Transportation as a Marine Captain where he operated the ferry between Galveston and Boliver. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 5400; the Kemah Elks Lodge #2322, and a Chaplain for both the American Legion Post 89 and the Legion Riders.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Judith C. Crabill, his parents and his guardians.

He is survived by his daughter, Jodie Crabill of Mechanicsville, Maryland; son, Jeffrey Crabill of La Plata, Maryland; step daughter, Kimberly Moore (William) and step son, Jason Werner (Diana); five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Monday, March 3, at Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque at 6 p.m. The graveside service will be Tuesday, March 4 in Jasper, Texas.
