The viewing (visitation) for friends and relatives will be from 6:00 PM 8:00 PM on Thursday January 23, 2014 at the Theis Funeral Chapel, located at 9377 Congress Street, New Market, VA.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday January 24, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located on 850 Ox Road, Woodstock, VA 22664. Bishop Judson Rex of the Woodstock Ward will be officiating. Burial will follow at Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in New Market, VA. Arrangements are by Theis Funeral Chapel.
Lynda Elaine Krobath was born in Washington DC to Sterling and Beverly McLaughlin Ammons on October 4, 1953.
She completed her undergraduate studies in history at James Madison University, and her master's degree in education from Eastern Mennonite University.
She married Francis "Skip" Krobath (aka "pain-in-the-ass") on July 11, 1986 in Berryville, VA.
Her life-long passions included helping others, her family, teaching not only her students but everyone who crossed her path, learning from history, and serving her community. Her professional life began with Mary Kay Cosmetics advancing her to the level of Senior Sales Director the mid to late 80's. Mary Kay Cosmetics was blessed to have Lynda for over 30 years.
Lynda began embracing Massanutten Military Academy 6 years ago as an 11th grade English teacher. After receiving her Master's Degree she transitioned to English as a Second Language (ESL). Her final years at MMA were focused towards preparing post graduates for college English. Lynda's final years were also community focused as an active leader/member of the New Market Rotary Club working towards helping the world find clean water.
Lynda is survived by her loving husband, Francis âSkipã Krobath; and four wonderful children and supporting loving extended children, Scott Seal, Adam Seal, Sarah Seal Grefe, Nathan D. Krobath, and Denise Thomas, Danniel Yanic, Joey Krobath, and Justine Kloske; sisters, Theresa Ramsey, Winona Jenkins, and Diane Lusso; parents, Sterling Long Ammons and Beverly Joice McLaughlin and 17 loving grandchildren.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be given to Sentra RMH Hahn Cancer Center at 2010 Health Campus Dr. Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
The Krobath-Seal family wishes to extend our most sincere thanks to all Physicians, nurses and staff members of the RMH Hahn Cancer Center in Harrisonburg, VA. The support and compassionate loving care of Lynda in her final years as she battled cancer is immeasurable.
