Alta Louise Snarr Miller, age 93, a resident of Strasburg, VA, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC. Mrs. Miller had been under the loving care of her son and daughter-in-law in Conway, SC for the past two years.

A funeral service for Mrs. Miller will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Tim Waltonen officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Strasburg.

Mrs. Miller was born in Shenandoah County, VA on October 5, 1919, a daughter of the late Elbert B. and Josie E. Sine Snarr.

She was a graduate of Strasburg High School and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She retired from Valley Milk Products in Strasburg in 1984.

She later worked for Foster's Jewelers in Strasburg and Winchester, VA and the Dollar General Store in Strasburg. She always enjoyed everyone that came into the store and never met a stranger. Up until two years ago Mrs. Miller was still driving and loved to have her hair and nails done, and, the ladies at Clip N Curl were always so good to her. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was the widow of the late Earl A. Miller who preceded her in death on April 8, 1988.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Riffey; four brothers, Elbert B. Snarr, Jr., Leonard Snarr, Jack Snarr and Charles Snarr.

Survivors include her son, Allen Miller and wife Sandy (whom she loved like a daughter) of Conway, SC; her daughters, Phyllis Renner of Woodstock, VA, Linda Cook and husband Jerry of Strasburg, VA and Vickie Edwards and husband Tommy of Strasburg, VA; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Matie Neal of Woodstock, VA.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Putman, Michael Whittle, Danny Wymer, Gary Drummond, Charlie Drummond and Claude Drummond. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m.
