Annettha Elizabeth Glaize Manuel, 99, of Richmond, passed away Friday March 8, 2019.

She was born December 17, 1919 in Strasburg, VA. Her parents, Walter Tanquary Glaize and Susan Henshaw Glaize preceded her in death.

She has joined her husband of 65 years, Herbert Bennett Manuel, in their heavenly home. He passed March 8, 2007.

They are survived by their children, Katherine "Kitty" Manuel Redford (Grayson), Thomas "Tom" Glaize Manuel (Emily), Annettha "Anne" Manuel Benites (Santiago), Marjorie "Marge" Manuel Rusher (William); seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

She was a long time member of Lakeside Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was an active member of a Home Demonstration Club and several Bridge Groups.

Her homemade chocolate fudge and bread brought smiles to family and many friends.

The real joys of her life were supporting her husband in his work at Southern States Co-op and her children and grandchildren in their many endeavors. She enjoyed the experiences of travel that she and Herb shared after he retired.

Family will receive friends 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. today Tuesday at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad Street, Glen Allen.

A celebration of her life will be held at Cedarfield Retirement Community.

Interment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Massey Cancer Center, Box 980214, Richmond, VA 23284 or Samaritan Fund, c/o Cedarfield Retirement, 2300 Cedarfield PKWY, Richmond, VA 23233.
