Barbara Jean Sigmon Taylor, 71, of Mt. Jackson, VA, passed away Monday, November 19, 2012, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA.

The funeral will be held Saturday, November 24, at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 321 Headquarters Road, Edinburg, VA. Reverends Katie Gosswein and James Baseler will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Taylor was born July 26, 1941 in Baltimore, MD, daughter of the late Loy Eugene Sigmon, Sr. and Grace Warren Sigmon.

She graduated from Cleveland High School and Statesville Business College in NC. She formerly worked as secretary for St. Paul Lutheran Church and Catawba County Social services in NC. She was a past director for Moss-Bowe Dog Shows. She later became a legal secretary in Martinsburg, WV and then Deputy Clerk of Shenandoah County Juvenile Court. She retired as Clerk of Shenandoah County Juvenile Court. She worked for the County Little Leagues, member of the Woodstock Women's Aux. for 12 years, member of the Edinburg Lutheran Parish for 32 years and St. Jacob's Lutheran Church Women's Group for many years.

She was preceded in death by brother, Wayne Bernard Sigmon; and sister, Sandra Myszak.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Rev. John F. Taylor, Jr.; three sons, J. Mark Taylor and his wife Patty of Stephens City, Phil Wayne Taylor of Edinburg and Paul Taylor and his wife Nikki of Strasburg; two brothers, Loy Sigmon, Jr. and Brian Sigmon, both of Statesville, NC; six grandchildren, Jennifer Allen, Alison Denbigh, Andrea Varner, Roger Varner, Riley McDonald, and Reese Taylor; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dexter Mumaw, Alan Dodson, Wade Zirkle, Jim Allamong, Roger Varner, David George, Ron Woolum and Paul Ryman.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.
