Carl Lee Mullins, Jr., 51, of Harrisonburg, passed away on July 19, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Mullins was born on August 15, 1959 in Richlands, Virginia, and was a son of Carl Lee Mullins, Sr. and Kay Francis (Matney) Mullins.

He graduated from Groveton High School and later received a bachelor's degree from James Madison University. Carl worked as Senior Vice President of Sales for Bank of Montreal, formerly a division of Citigroup.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many.

On August 8, 1987, he married the former Cheryl Bacon who survives.

In addition to his wife, Carl is survived by two sons, Carl Lee Mullins III and Christian Alexander Mullins, both of Harrisonburg; a daughter, Cynthia Louise Mullins, of Harrisonburg; a sister, Stephanie Mullins and husband Jim of Harrisonburg; sisters-in-law, Krista Marlatt and husband Brian of Atlanta, Georgia, Sonia Kohrs and husband Keith of Denver, Colorado; six nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Sonia Swearingen and husband Gerret of Palm City, Florida.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Mullins Fogle; and grandparents, Eva and Walter Mullins and Curtis and Della Matney.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday July 22, 2011 at 7 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Rev. Richard Vaught officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at their home. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 4 p.m. in Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands.
