Charles Malcolm "Bubby" Baker, age 86, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Consulate Health Care, Woodstock.

A funeral service for Mr. Baker will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Strasburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Edward P. Winkler officiating. Entombment will follow at Panorama Memorial Gardens, Warren County. Military honors will be conducted by Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg.

He was born in Strasburg on December 3, 1924 a son of the late Paul Pitman and Mildred Hockman Baker. He was a member of Strasburg United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in the Atlantic and Pacific of World War II. He was married to Martha Virginia "Peggy" Jenkins Baker who preceded him in death on November 27, 2008. He was a well known brick mason throughout the Shenandoah Valley and was a life member of the Strasburg Moose Lodge No. 403 as well as the Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg, the V.F.W. Post 2447 of Edinburg, and a life member of the National Rifle Association. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a grandson, Paul Allen Baker, Jr.; a brother, Quinton Baker; two sisters, Norma Jean Rudolph, and Juanita B. Wrenn.

Survivors include his children Paul Allen Baker and wife, Donna, Woodstock, Glen Ray Baker and wife, Connie and William "Willie" Maxwell Baker and wife, Melissa both of Toms Brook; his brother, Maxwell Eugene Baker of Strasburg; his grandchildren, Christopher Dyke Baker, Christopher Todd Baker, Brittany Rae Baker, Kelsey Michelle Baker, and Dylan Matthew Baker; ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carrie D. Baker, Front Royal; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be the Fellowship Degree of the Strasburg Moose Lodge 403.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home from 6-8 P.M. Friday evening.
