Cornell had a degree from General Motors University and was retired from Mike Pallone Chevrolet, where he worked as Service Director and General Manager of the Parts Department for a total of 35 years.  Mr. Pallone was not only Cornell's employer, but also a very good friend.

Cornell was a member of Crossroads Baptist Bible Church where he served as Deacon and assistant treasurer. He was greatly loved and respected by his family and friends, Pastor Phil, and the congregation.  He served the church with special friends and fellow officers, John McInteer, Glen Shepard, Billy Seal, Jerry Dawson, Danny Shaffer, and Ronnie Bowers.

Andy Barricks, Richard Heishman, Richard Burner, and Raymond Dellinger were also close friends and he enjoyed being a part of the Mens' Group of Hudson Cross Roads.  Cornell loved and honored the Lord and his church, and all his friends and family.

He was a wonderful and caring person, always ready to help in a time of need.  Cornell felt he was very blessed by having two church families, Community Mission Church of The Brethren at Woodstock, pastored by Pastor Hardy Lutz, and Crossroads Baptist Bible Church at Hudson Crossroads where Phil Speicher is Pastor.

They will jointly hold the memorial service at Community Mission Church of the Brethren located at 50 Coffmantown Rd, Woodstock, Virginia at 3 PM on July 13, 2013. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Community Mission Church of the Brethren. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. A meal will follow the service.
