Dale Fenton Ridgway, 74, of Front Royal, VA, died on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Warren Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m. at North Warren Volunteer Fire Department conducted by Rev. Buzz Moore. The family will greet friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and a reception will follow the service at the fire hall.

Mr. Ridgway was born April 11, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Blyden Victor Ridgway and Ethelreada Christ Ridgway.

In 1946 he moved to his father's farm in Warren County and while in high school he became a school bus driver. After high school he had a 30-year career with Safeway, and after retirement began to drive school buses again for Warren County Public Schools for another 21 years. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, and was a former member of the Warren County Zoning Board and Bennett's Chapel Cemetery Association. Mr. Ridgway was a man of devout faith and truly enjoyed his daily bible studies. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Jeraldine Shipe Ridgway of Front Royal; and two children, Pam Budd and husband Stephen and Dale Mechelle Cummings and husband Tom all of Front Royal; grandchildren, Stevi Marie Budd, Jesse E. Budd and wife Megan, Dale Taylor Williams and fiance Jesse Gustafson, David Brent Williams and girlfriend Taylor King, Stephanie Dawn Yamamoto and husband Luis, and Christopher Cummings; great-grandchildren, Carter Elena Budd, Rowan Daniel Gustafson, and Myles Christopher Cummings, Liam Gustafson; godchildren, Reggie Fritts, Shannon Laing, Danielle Laing, Susan Stephens, Kara Bates, Angela Gouda, Jason Tyree, and Tamara Farmer; three brothers-in-law, Buzz Moore, Tommy Fritts, and Bob Anderson; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Fritts, Dee Moore, and Janice Shipe; nieces, nephews and a large family in Pittsburg, PA.

Family is not made by blood but by love. Daddy felt richly blessed to have such a large, wonderful family, and many great friends including special friends Wade and Louise Stephens Family, Ralph Stephens Family, Chuck and Nancy Barnes Family, Frankie Stephens and Howard Sanders, The Clarence Jones Family, Junior Jones Family, Jean Cornwell Family, Tommy and Charlotte Esteppe Family, Vaughn and Bill Hayes Family, Eileen Laing Family, Billy Jones, The Silas Laing Family, Michael Laing Family, Bob Laing Family, Marvin Laing Family, Ruth and Niles Tyree, Virginia and Sammy Henry, Julie Mullins, Bonita Rose and Edward Hoffman Family.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Sallyann E. Anderson.
