Douglas Wilson Steed, 80, of Winchester, VA, died on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Envoy Nursing Home in Winchester.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Steed was born June 27, 1932 in Warren County, VA son of the late Woodrow Wilson Steed and Lottie Coffey Steed.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and had worked for Ramsey's Hardware and Bowen's Paint and Plumbing.
He was married to the late Phyllis Steed.
Surviving are one daughter, Sandra Renner of Winchester; one brother, Woodrow Wilson âRedã Steed of Front Royal; two sisters, Jeanette Gould of Millville, MA and Doris Sealock of Front Royal; four grandchildren, Erica Darr, Brandon âHeathã Darr, Travis Steed and Charity Steed; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son Clark Steed.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Strother, Jeff Magalis, Eric Magalis, Stephen Coffey, David Coffey, and David Ison.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 21, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home.
