Edward Earle Sowers, Jr., 55, of Front Royal died peacefully Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the Royal Haven Nursing Home.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Rockland Community Church in Front Royal at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Swack officiating. Interment will be private at a later date at the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
Mr. Sowers was born August 7, 1957, in Winchester, VA, son of the late Edward Earle Sowers, Sr. and Dollie Chrisman Sowers. He was a graduate of Warren County High School, Class of 1975, where he excelled in Cross Country and Track. He was a farmer by trade and worked several farm related jobs. He most enjoyed working at Tractor Supply helping many a farmer. Farming was his passion. He was a member of the Rockland Community Church.
Mr. Sowers is survived by a son, Kyle Edward Sowers (Georgia) of Strasburg, VA and a daughter, Amber Leigh Sowers of Strasburg, VA; three sisters, Connie S. Good of Front Royal, VA, Norma S. Bowman of Burlington, NC, and Patsy S. Murray of Warrenton, VA; two brothers, Kenneth W. Dawson of New Market, VA and Richard A. Sowers of Toms Brook, VA; two grandchildren, Samara and Colton; numerous nieces and nephews, and his faithful companion, his dog, Ladybug. He was preceded in death by one sister, Martha A. Wilkes.
He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle and he will be greatly missed by his family but many, many cherished memories we have.
The family would like to thank the Staff of Royal Haven Nursing Home for the excellent care he received there and to Blue Ridge Hospice for their care and support.
