Gary William Eggers Sr. (1952 - 2018)

Gary William Eggers Sr., 65, of Front Royal, Virginia, was promoted to Glory Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Winchester Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Salvation Army Harrisonburg Corps, 185 Ashby Avenue, Harrisonburg.

Mr. Eggers was born September 25, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Marvin Andrew Eggers and the late Ottilie Huber Eggers.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ingrid Titus.

He was currently working for Sears in Fair Oaks Mall as a salesman and he was a Corps Sargent Major of the Salvation Army Harrisonburg Corps.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Carol Woodward Eggers of Front Royal. They were married June 22, 1986 in Charleston, South Carolina.

He is also survived by two sons, G.W. Eggers Jr. (Laurie) of Georgia and Jason Eggers Sr. (Elizabeth) of Georgia; daughter, Laura Elizabeth Eggers (Brigham) of Georgia; step son, Charles Franklin Hamons (Janice) of South Carolina; two step daughters, Christal Maria Yowell (Richi) of Timberville, Virginia and Cheryl Lawson (JC) of Front Royal; two brothers, Bill Eggers (Marsha) of Florida and Michael Eggers (Laura) of South Carolina; 21 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; special nephew, Robert Titus (Mickey) of Georgia; special nieces, Katie Rebideaux (Joe) of Ashburn, Virginia and Emily Eggers of South Carolina; numerous other nieces and nephews; and his cat, Annie.

The family will receive friends at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main Street, Front Royal Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 185 Ashby Avenue, Harrisonburg, VA 22802.
