Glenn Eugene Ludwig, 63, of Strasburg, Virginia, departed this life with family members by his side on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Hospice Center in Winchester, Virginia.

The funeral will be held Monday, January 28, at 2:00 p.m. at Waterbrook Brethren Church, 4392 Palmyra Church Road, Edinburg, VA. Pastor Jim C. Corbitt will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Ludwig was born May 8, 1949 in Edinburg, VA, son of the late Elwood L. Ludwig, Sr. and Wilma Ruth Miller Ludwig.

He was a former member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren and an active at Waterbrook Brethren Church. He was a carpenter and last employed with F. D. Neal Construction. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed working in the garage on old cars and spending time with his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by a son, Stacey Lynn Ludwig; and two sisters, Joan Campbell and Linda Herald.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Dellinger Ludwig whom he married on May 15, 1968; daughter, Lisa Ann Galanis and husband Patrick of Winchester; son, Tracey Eugene Ludwig and wife Elizabeth of Strasburg; two brothers, Merlyn Ludwig of Edinburg and Elwood Ludwig, Jr. of Stanley; six sisters, Jerri Lippert of Front Royal, Wanda Rinker of Toms Brook, Judy Tharp of Edinburg, Wilma Reynolds of Maurertown, Naomi Wine of Woodstock, and Debra Hodgson of Bunker Hill, WV; six grandchildren, Patrick Galanis, Jr., Joshua Galanis, Stacey Galanis, Glenn Scott Ludwig, Christina Ludwig and Hunter Ludwig; and a special caregiver, Olivia Parker.

Pallbearers will be Jerry O'Neal, Dale Bowers, Roger Grose, Roger Shifflett, Mike Jones and Monroe Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.

Memorial contributions may be made to the burial fund for Glenn in care of Dellinger Funeral Home.

Glenn was a wonderful father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
