Col. USAR (Ret.) James Miller Robinson, (Jimmy), age 72, of Concord, NC, originally from Strasburg, VA, died at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC, from pancreatic cancer on April 6, 2013.

Services will held Sunday 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Major General (Rev.) Razz Waff officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Stover Funeral Home.

Jim was born November 28, 1940 in Roanoke, VA to the late Nelson Warren and Frances Cloyd Robinson. Jim was a graduate of Strasburg High School, The College of William and Mary and the Army War College. Jim grew up in the Hotel Strasburg formally owned by his parents and grandparents. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve with the rank of Colonel. He was awarded the Legion of Merit, was a Master Paratrooper, and a Green Beret Special Forces Officer.

Jim was CEO and founder SouthWest Corrugated Sheets which later became Vista Corrugated, CEO and founder of RAS investments and also CEO and founder of Retirement Asset Solutions.

He was a wine enthusiast, a great listener, advisor, had a wonderful sense of humor, an infectious smile a foster parent and was adored by his family. He was a faithful Servant of our Lord Jesus Christ.

After his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer he lived three years to the fullest focusing on time with his wife, children and grandchildren, and helping WW II, Korean and Vietnam Veterans and their spouses find their unknown and rightful benefits, and strengthening his relationship with his Lord.

He is survived by his wife whom he married 50 years ago, Anna Fake Robinson; his children, Leslie Coleman and husband Pat of Madison, MS, Suzanne Trollan and husband Vince of Hickory, NC, Amy Rodgers and husband Mike of Concord, NC and Jay Robinson and wife Melissa of Phoenix AZ; sister, Gaye Brown of Chapin, SC; grandchildren, Patrick Coleman, Chloe Smith, Meg Trollan, Caroline Coleman, Jim Trollan, Nathan Rodgers, Dylan Robinson, Jacob Rodgers, Zachary Rodgers, Mackenzie Rodgers, Hannah Rodgers, Abby Robinson and Samuel Robinson.
