Jerry Long Blye, 73, a resident of Mount Solon, VA, passed away on July 3, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Blye was born in Winchester on July 21, 1938 to the late Curtis Eugene and Mary Katherine Long Blye.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Faye Dellinger Blye in 1995; and one son, Curtis L. Blye in 2005.
Jerry graduated from James Wood High School in Winchester and retired from Owens Brockway in Harrisonburg after forty-two years. He served in the National Guard and was skilled as a jack of all trades. He took pride in helping others, working in his garden, riding motorcycles, fishing and playing the mandolin.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Adams Blye; his son, Danny L. Blye and wife Kristen of Harrisonburg; his daughter, Loralea B. Hertzler and husband Ashton of Harrisonburg; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two stepsons, Roger Tribby and wife Becky of Oklahoma and Kevin Tribby and wife Betty of Harrisonburg; one stepdaughter, Vicki Watson of Leesburg; his brother, Daniel E. Blye of Winchester and his sister, Judy B. Bauserman of Winchester. He is also survived by his Jack Russell Terriers, Jenny and Hoppin.
A private graveside service will be held at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.
