Joan Ann "Joanne" Crane Fristoe, 86, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Brookside Health and Rehabilitation Center in Warrenton, Virginia.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal with Sammy Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Fristoe was born June 17, 1932 in Warrenton to the late John Samuel Crane and Amber James Crane.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Linwood Fristoe Sr.; three brothers, Edgel Crane, Ronald Crane and Bruce Crane; and two sisters, Catholene McGrady and Alma Bailey.

Survivors include her four sons, Kenneth Linwood Fristoe Jr. (Sheree) of Hagerstown, Maryland, and Kevin Glenn Fristoe (Paula), Terry Allen Fristoe and Larry Dale Fristoe (Lauren), all of Front Royal; two brothers, Johnny Crane of Flint Hill, Virginia and Oliver Crane of Kilmarnock, Virginia; one sister, Onile Salisbury of Front Royal; three grandchildren, Erica Doberer, Tara Laing and Ethan Fristoe; and three great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ethan Fristoe, Larry Chambers, Scott Blume, Evan Whited, Ronnie Whited, and David Oliver.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the , National Headquarters, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

Arrangements are being handled by Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal.
