Joan Lee Livingston, Burke, VA, surrounded by the love of her family, peacefully passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013 going home to be with the lord.

Daughter of the late Lester A. Lee and Ivah Snyder Lee of Cato, NY and sister of the late Herb Bean of Venice, FL and Ken Bean of State College, PA. Sister of Marilyn Cole of Meridian, NY and David Lee of Cicero, NY.

Devoted wife of 61 years to Robert Livingston of Burke, VA; mother of Jana Luther of Centreville, VA, David and (Bonnie) Livingston of Winchester, VA and Raymond Livingston of Front Royal, VA. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was also a 64 year member of Brutus-Cato Star OES 86. She was a graduate of Auburn Business School. She enjoyed travel as an Air Force wife, volunteering as President and Recording Secretary with The Wives Club, she was active as a Girl Scout and Boy Scout Leader, Seamstress and Sewing Teacher, Milliner, Cake Decorator.

She was also a devoted mother and wife who enjoyed family traditions.

Services will be held at Burke United Methodist Church, 6200 Burke Centre Parkway, Burke, VA 22015 on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Also services will be held at Meridian Baptist Church, Meridian, NY 13113 on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. immediately followed by an Eastern Star Service and then a inurnment at Cato Union Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Order of the Eastern Star, Brutus-Cato Star OES 86 or Capital Caring Hospice, 2900 Telestar Court, Falls Church, VA 22042.
