JoAnne Cooley Stickley, 72, of Middletown, VA, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA.

A graveside service for Mrs. Stickley will be held for family and close friends at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, VA with the Rev. Wendell Schurtz officiating.

JoAnne was born in Winchester, VA November 30, 1945, a daughter of the late Paul Garvin "Buddy" and Helen Jenkins Cooley.

She retired from Rubbermaid Commercial Products, where she worked as an inventory control clerk.

She was a member and former president of the Middletown Fire & Rescue Ladies Auxiliary, a former Girl Scout Leader, loved cats and birds, was an avid photographer, a great cook and loyal fan of the Young & Restless.

She was the widow of the late Johnnie Allen Stickley.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Garvin "Dickie" Cooley and a sister, Nancy Lee Church.

Survivors include her children, Theresa Stickley Henson and husband Douglas Wayne of Middletown, VA, and Susan Stickley Whittington and husband Earl Lee of Maurertown, VA; her grandchildren, Heidi Elizabeth Whittle of Stephens City, VA, and Jonathan Eugene Henson and MaryEllen Lynn Henson, both of Middletown, VA; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Middletown Fire & Rescue Ladies Auxiliary, P.O. Box 111, Middletown, VA 22645 or to a no-kill animal shelter of your choice.
