Joyce Owens Ellison, 56, of Maurertown, VA, died Monday, November 26, 2012, at her residence.

She was born December 30, 1955 in Clarke County, VA, the daughter of Floyd Wilton and Myrtle Belle Ashby Owens.

She was married to Douglas Neal Ellison.

Mrs. Ellison had been a licensed practical nurse.

Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Jennifer Neal Ellison and Kristie Lynn Ellison, both of Woodstock and Heather Marie Higgs of Maurertown; five sisters, Mary Carnes of Akron, OH, Elizabeth Ashby of Frederick County, Ellen Oscar of Stephens City, Pauline Salvador of Gerrardstown, WV and Janet Atkinson of Bunker Hill, WV; two brothers, James Owens of Buena Vista, VA and Paul Owens of Clarke County; and six grandchildren, Dasia Whitmer, Julian Higgs, Samuel Higgs, Kolby Ritenour, Justin Ellison and Kyla Ritenour.

A graveside service will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Cedar Creek Christian Church Cemetery, 5614 Zepp Road, Zepp, VA.

Casketbearers will be Jamie Salvador, Craig Davis, Tony Hutzler, Paige Owens, Gerry Oscar, Michael Graves and John Orndorff.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Joyce's bingo friends for their special friendship and support.
