Marian Louise Lansberry Smedley, 78, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Winchester Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 16 at 2 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Sammy Campbell. Interment will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Marian was born on November 2, 1939, in Rileyville, daughter of the late Charles Edward Lansberry and Anna Lee Cook Lansberry.

Marian retired after many dedicated years from the finance department of the Town of Front Royal.

Surviving are her husband of over 60 years, Eugene "Gene" Smedley; children, Genia Ortiz (Sal) of Front Royal, Kelly Marino (Jennifer) of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Brad Smedley (Kim) of Manassas; two brothers, William Lansberry (Denise) of Hillsborough, North Carolina, and Lloyd Lansberry (Cindy) of Vanceburg, Kentucky; and grandchildren, Sean Smith, Kyle Smith (Brittany), Anthony Ortiz (Rachel), Celeste Horton, Julianna Fouch, Amelia Fouch and Violet Marino.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Christine Smedley; sisters, Frances Heflin and Carol Derzak; brothers, Charles Lansberry and Roy Lansberry Sr.; and a grandson, Jeremy Smith.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Smith, Anthony Ortiz, Danny Heflin, Roy Lansberry Jr., Mike Heflin Sr. and Anthony Lansberry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Marino, Taylor Heflin, Mike Heflin Jr., Christopher Heflin and Marty Lansberry.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 15 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
