Mary "Mattie" Petrosky Hoffman, daughter of the late Mary Rich Petrosky and Michael Petrosky Sr., passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the age of 90.

Most recently a resident of Concordia Lutheran Care Home in Franklin Park, PA, Mattie was born in Monongahela, PA April 22, 1928.

Mattie moved to Alexandria, VA in her early 20's and worked for Capital Airlines and later United Airlines, retiring in 1995.

Mattie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clark Hoffman; and her brothers, Metro, George, Charles and Michael Petrosky.

She is survived by her sister, Helen Olexa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Known for her love of family and friends, her generous nature, and setting the prettiest dinner table most had seen, Mattie will be sorely missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2018 at Gravel Springs Lutheran Church, 1870 S. Pifer Road, Star Tannery, VA 22654. Family will gather for visitation at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gravel Springs Lutheran Church, Gravel Springs Cemetery Association, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alexandria, VA or Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Franklin Park, Pennsylvania.
