Mary Lucille Kerns Patterson, age 93, of Strasburg, passed away Tuesday evenign at Lynn Care Center of Front Royal.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June15, 2013 at Stover Memorial Chapel, Strasburg with Rev. William N. Wade and Col. Michael Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester.
Mrs. Patterson was born May 30, 1920 in Capon Bridge, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Staton Garfield and Lydia Rose Keplinger Kerns. She was a member of the United Brethren Church and worked for Double Day Printing for 10 years, and J.C. Penny and Leggett's as a sales person for 8 years.
She was the wife of the late James William Patterson.
Surviving are two sons, Ellis L. Patterson and wife Diane of Strasburg and Ray W. Patterson and wife Libby of Middletown; a daughter, Kathryn P. Carroll and husband Gerald of Stephens City; a daughter-in-law, Betty H. Patterson of Strasburg; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles E. Patterson.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Christopher Carroll, Ret. Maj. Steven Paterson, Col. Michael Patterson, Jeff Patterson, Todd Patterson, Brad Patterson and Timothy Patterson.
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home, Strasburg on Friday from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
