Mary Pearson Obituary

Mary S. Pearson, 90, of Warrenton, died peacefully on November 3, 2011 at Fauquier Hospital.

Born on December 24, 1920 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Minnie B. (Waltman) and Willoughby Dunbar Shollenberger.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Norman C. Pearson, Sr. who died in 1998 and by her sisters, Magella Pray, Martha O'Neil, Sara Shollenberger, and Dorothy Stumpf.

She was a veteran of WW II serving in the U. S. Navy following her graduation from Bucknell University. She retired from Fauquier National Bank in 1974 after a career as a bookkeeper and teller. She was a past member of the Warrenton Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Although visually impaired by macular degeneration, she enjoyed audio books, exercising, assisting her dear friends Mary Carver, Dorothy Clark, and Dorothy Toler in finishing 159 quilts for Our Saviour Lutheran Church. She also was an avid follower of the Washington Nationals on the radio.

She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey D. Pearson and his wife Nancy Ashleigh Pearson of Front Royal, Virginia, and Norman C. Pearson, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Charlottesville, Virginia; four grandchildren, Norman C. Pearson III and his wife Tena Helms of Macon Georgia, Barry Pearson and his wife Suzanne of Stephens City, Virginia, Bradley Pearson and his wife Kellye of Stephens City, Virginia, and Rev. Kendall Pearson of Charlottesville, Virginia; six great-grandchildren, Caleb, Jonah, Silas, and Hallie Pearson of Stephens City, George and Harry Pearson of Macon. Brad and Kellye are awaiting their first child in 2012 and at Grandma Mary's request Brad revealed his name to her in the hospital before she entered the ICU.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, Virginia.

Thanks to all our extended family and many friends who sent condolences during the loss of our beloved Mother, Mary S. Pearson who was loved so much by everyone.

My prayers and sympathy go out to the entire Pearson family. Know that your Mom and Grandmother was one of the most generous and nicest person you could ever know. She always cared about her entire family even her sisters children and their families with whom she would keep in constant contact. I love you Aunt Mary and I will miss you terribly.

Mary work as a teller at Fauquier Bank the View Tree Branch for many years. She was alway alot of fun to work with and did her job the best she could. My best go out to her family. Ginger Russell Biggs Kidwell,
