Mrs. Nina Irwin Smith, 73, of New Market, passed away Thursday morning, November 15, 2012, at her residence.

She was born August 20, 1939 at Edinburg and was a daughter of the late Brooks and Elizabeth Irwin.
Mrs. Smith was homemaker but had been employed at Aileen, Inc. years ago. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her husband, Donald R. Smith; three sons, Steven R. Smith and his companion, Wanda Pryce, Terry W. Smith and his fiancee, Tammy Golladay and Russell B. Smith and his wife Heidi; a brother, Brooks Irwin, Jr.; three sisters, Goldie Polk, Bettie Wolverton, and Patsy Grandstaff; five grandchildren, Brett Smith, Dakota Smith, Jessica Swank, Ashley Smith and Lindsey Smith; a great-granddaughter, Emily Swank; and a special family member, Randy Stalbird.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey Polk and Roxie Shephard.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Sunset View Memorial Gardens, Woodstock.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Theis Funeral Chapel in New Market where friends are invited to sign the register book.
