Raymond Franklin "Bud" Ritenour Jr., 84, of Strasburg, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 at his home.

A memorial service will be conducted at 12 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 at Stover Memorial Chapel, Strasburg with Robert Funkhouser officiating.

Mr. Ritenour will be laid to rest in Riverview Cemetery at a later date.

Mr. Ritenour was born October 9, 1933 in Strasburg, the son of the late Raymond Franklin and Frances Willey Ritenour Sr.

He was graduate of Strasburg High School, Class of 1952, sang in the choir at Strasburg United Methodist Church as a young boy and was a retired carpenter.

He was a member of Strasburg Moose Lodge, No. 403, enjoyed hunting in West Virginia and fishing in the river, loved gardening, butchering and family gatherings, enjoyed visiting with his great grandchildren.

He always told his daughters that the greatest thing he did in his life was to marry their mother, the late Lillie Mae Lantz Ritenour.

Surviving are his daughters, Mary Frances Haun (Brian Stickley), Bonnie Ritenour-Williams (Kevin), Jenny Lee Fogle (Tim), Joan R. Cubbage (Glen), and Vicky Lynn Ritenour (John Miller), all of Strasburg; five grandchildren, Samuel Haun (Michelle), Jessica Ritenour Ryan (Tony), Mary Beth Haun (Gus), Rebecca Mae Coffman (Robbie), and Krista Rae Barton (Caleb); step grandchildren, Jennifer Halin (Dan), Jared Williams (Karen), Morgan Williams (Kristina), Glen Michael Cubbage, and Vanessa Cubbage; six great grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his companion dog, Little Skunk.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Faye Kennedy.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home, 177 N. Holliday St., Strasburg Friday from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Bud had a special place in his heart for all children. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials may be made to Ressie Jeffries Elementary School Playground Fund, 320 E. Criser Road, Front Royal, VA 22630.
