Richard Elwood Barb, 88, of Mt. Jackson, died Monday, August 26, 2013 at Greenfield of Woodstock.

Richard was born July 10, 1925 in Columbia Furnace, son of the late John H. and Daisy Markley Barb.
He was a member of Mt. Jackson United Methodist Church and was a manager for Chrysler Corporation. He and his wife retired to the Valley in 1984, enjoying spending time at the farm and doing volunteer work.
Richard is survived by his wife, Doris (Rosie) Barb; sons, Gary A. Barb, Essex Junction, VT, and Bryan W. Barb, Edinburg; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane Downard, Middletown; and brother, Charles D. Barb, Edinburg.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Arnaud.
The funeral will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 31, at Mt. Jackson United Methodist Church with Reverend Michael Dettmer officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Jackson Cemetery.
