Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend

Virginia Frances Jenkins 68, of Meherrin, VA passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on September 9, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with renal kidney disease.

She had been a long time resident of Middleburg, VA and Winchester, VA before moving to Meherrin five years ago.

She was born in Woodstock, VA on December 25, 1944, to the late Ruby and Sam Estep.  She was a graduate of Central High School in Woodstock. She worked as a secretary for many years for Wagenburg Farm in Middleburg. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family, especially her two grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Stanley Jenkins.  They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 19, 2013.  Also, her two daughters, Karen Jenkins and Patricia "Trudy" Nightingale, her son in-law, Brian Nightingale, and her two cherished grandchildren, Tyler and Hannah Nightingale, all of Leesburg, VA.

Her love and adoration for these family members was everlasting, especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life. She had a special, loving place in her heart for Patrick Nightingale, Brian's son from a previous marriage.

Also surviving is her sister, Judy Kilgore and her husband, Nile and their son Kevin; and another sister, Barbara Davison and her daughter Ann Coffett; two brothers, Sam Estep Jr. and Roger Estep.

She was preceded in death by her late brother, Ronald Estep.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 21, at 1:30 at The Church of Christ at 1401 Milnwood Road in Farmville, VA.  Pastor Jim Price will preside.

The family invites family and friends for a reception immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Virginia's memory to Hospice of Virginia, 202 Clark St, Farmville, VA 23901.

The family would like to extend its deepest appreciation to the many hospice workers for their support, friendship, and loving care.
