Walter Smith "Chip" Knave, Jr., 49, of Front Royal, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Winchester Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Dottie Holden. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens.
Chip was born June 5, 1962 in Front Royal, VA, son of Walter Smith Knave, Sr. and Helen Robinson Knave of Front Royal, VA.
He was the owner and operator of Alf's Janitorial and Lawn Care since 1985 and was employed by Warren County Public Schools as head custodian of Leslie Fox Keyser Elementary School in Front Royal. Chip never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand in any capacity. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Surviving along with his parents are one brother, Michael Wayne Knave and wife Sherry of Linden, VA; one sister, Jeanie Knave Deem Tharpe of Front Royal; two special nephews, Sean Deem and Drew Deem; and a very close and dear friend, Dana Atkisson.
Pallbearers will be Drew Deem, Bobby Moore, Skip LeCompte, Jerry Rosperich, Tom Blicharz, and Paul Hartman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sean Deem, Richard Knave, Tony Knave, Will Knave, and David Strickler.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 20, from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal.
