Dorothy May Sine Mumaw, 80, of Edinburg, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at her home surrounded by family and friends.

She was born January 14, 1932, in Shenandoah County, the daughter of the late Dillmon and Ethel May Johnson Sine. Dorothy was married to the late Olen Ray Mumaw. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Toms Brook, and she had been employed at Blue Ridge Poultry, Edinburg and Woodstock Aileen.

She is survived by her 4 children, Ray and Nancy Mumaw, Edinburg, Pauline and Billy Minton, Toms Brook, Linda and Jack Smoot, Jr., Edinburg, and Joyce and Danny Lambert, Woodstock.

She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Allen Mumaw and Christy, Anne Comer, Brandi Dysart and Billy, Jack Smoot, III and Ashley, Timmy Smoot and Crystal, Michael Rinker and Katherine, Darin Borden, Jennifer Borden, Danielle Lambert and Danna Smith; seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Richard ""Dick"" Sine and Cletus ""Tuck"" Sine, both of Edinburg, and Paul Sine, Front Royal; three sisters, Peggy Grove and Roxie Estep, both of Edinburg, and Fay Shipe, Winchester; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy had a special friend, Birgitta Cook-O'Neill and caregiver, Danny Lambert.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Diana Horton, Reverend James Baseler, and Reverend Howard Lutz on Monday, April 30, at 2:00 p.m. at Valley Funeral Service Chapel, Bowmans Crossing. Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Gardens.

Friends may sign the register book on Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the funeral home. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Allen Mumaw, Jack Smoot, III, Timmy Smoot, Michael Rinker, Kyle Smoot and Eddie Rinker. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild.

The family wishes to thank her hospice family: Susan Mason, Bridgette Wymer, Cora Weaver, Marylee Parsons and a special thanks to Dr. Milligan.
