Gayland "Bud" Ryan, age 74, a resident of Strasburg, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Winchester Medical Center.

A graveside service for Mr. Ryan will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Keller Cemetery, Sand Ridge Road, Toms Brook, VA with Rev. Ed Wilkins officiating.

Mr. Ryan was born in Shenandoah County on November 11, 1937, a son of the late Gaither Leroy and Anna Viola Grove Ryan.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church and the National Rifle Association.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two daughters, Lisa A. Burris and Marilyn F. Ryan; and a brother, Tommy Ryan.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Shirley Ryman Ryan of Strasburg; his children, Yvonne M. Ward and husband Stephen of Strasburg and Eric T. Ryan and wife Tammy of Strasburg; grandchildren, Zack Burris, Megan Burris and Rachel Burris; sisters, Jane Reynolds of Front Royal, Peggy Coffman and Phyllis Ritenour, both of Strasburg; and a brother, Paul Ryan of Woodstock.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 7-9 P.M.
