Betty Lou Fravel, of Woodstock, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Consulate Health Care in Woodstock.
She was born December 12, 1941 in Washington, D.C. She was the daughter of the late John Preston and Kathryn Borden Fravel.
She was a member of the first graduating class from Central High School in Woodstock in 1960 and a graduate of the L.P.N. program at Triplett Business and Technical Institute in Mt. Jackson. She worked as an L.P.N. at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital and Skyline Terrace Nursing Home. She was a member of Mount Calvary United Church of Christ, Woodstock.
She is survived by her Aunt Bess and Uncle Lyle Foster; Uncle Fulton Bowers; cousins, Emmelyn and husband Harry Helsley and daughter Cyrene Ryan; Robyn Racey and children Holly Kingree and Anthony Hamrick; Diane Bowers Ackerman and husband Scott; Linda Jo Norris and husband Luther; and Mary Ann Fravel.
She was preceded in death by cousins, Phillip and Dale Bowers; and aunts, Betty Jo Bowers, Isabel Gochenour, and Pearlie Fravel.
Burial will be private. A memorial service will be held at Mt. Calvary United Church of Christ, Woodstock on Saturday, June 16 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Derek Ritenour will officiate.
