James Stanley Williams, age 82, of Strasburg, died Sunday at Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center, Winchester.

Graveside rites will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen's Cemetery, Strasburg with Rev. Larry K. Miller officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Shenandoah American Legion Post No. 77, Strasburg.

Mr. Williams was born March 26, 1930 in Mt. Jackson, a son of the late Quiller A. and Elva M. Wolford Williams. He was of the Brethren faith, and a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. Mr. Williams was a member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge No. 575 and the Wardensville VFW. He retired from Gemstar Corporation as a mechanic and welder with 24 1/2 years of service.

Surviving are his daughters, Sherrie Elaine Grant and husband Gary of Woodstock and Rhonda Likens and husband Bill of Strasburg; four grandchildren, Josh McDonald, Candace Miller, Shannon Miller and Brandon Miller; six great-grandchildren; and his special friend and companion Angel, his dog.

Pallbearers will be Josh McDonald, Shannon Miller, Brandon Miller, Tyler McDonald, Dick Wetzel and Gary Himelright.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home, Strasburg, on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will meet at the cemetery on Wednesday at 10:45 a.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Stephen's Lutheran Church Building Fund.
