Mary Ann Carter, 56, of Front Royal died Thursday, June 21, 2012, in her home.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Carter Family Cemetery in Marshall.
Mrs. Carter was born January 2, 1956, in Fauquier County, daughter of Anna Mae Dodson Kerns of Front Royal and the late Elmer Lee Kerns. She was an employee of Food Lion in Marshall.
Surviving with her mother is her husband, Donald Carter; three sons, Jon Carter of Waycross, Georgia, Wayne Carter of Front Royal, and Jeff Carter of Front Royal; a daughter, Penny Simmons of Wayland, Michigan; two brothers, Frankie Kerns of Virginia Beach and Leon Kerns of Front Royal; a sister, Nancy Shaver of Front Royal; twelve grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Corey Walling, David Simmons, Steven Carter, Aaron Blevins, Leon Kerns, and Brian Carter.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
