Andrew "Andy" Worth Kinzer, age 97, passed away April 12, 2012 at the Goodwin House in Falls Church, VA.
He was born October 24, 1914 in Jenkins, KY, son of Andrew W. Kinzer and Susan Heffley Kinzer. He attended Central High School, Washington D.C., Canbera-Rowe Business College, Johnstown, PA, Benjamin Franklin University, and the American University in Washington, D.C. He served his country during W.W. II and was employed by the Consolidation Coal Co., Jenkins, KY, Capital Airlines, Washington, D.C. and the Washington Star where he retired in 1979 as Administrative Assistant to the Controller. His favorite pastimes included hiking and traveling.
Andy was a lifelong Methodist and attended Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington, D.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his only sister, Janice Kinzer Farling.
He is survived by a favorite cousin, Ruth Kinzer Hamilton of Melbourne, FL, her family and the families of her pre-deceased siblings, Julia (Kinzer) Tubbs, Alice (Kinzer) Groves and John Marvin Kinzer.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 11:00 am at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Front Royal, VA conducted by Rev. Jim Tubbs. Arrangements are by Maddox Funeral Home, Inc. Online condolences may be shared at
