James Robert "Bobby" Kline, 77, of Stephens City, VA, died on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at a local assisted living facility.

Bobby was born September 8, 1934 in Middletown, VA, the son of James C. and Bethel Hottel Kline.

He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve as an Airman Apprentice from January 22, 1953 to January 18, 1955. In addition, he served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a Computer System Repairman from January 19, 1955 to January 18, 1963. He was employed by Frederick County as a Deputy Sheriff until his retirement in 2004 and he also spent much of his time umpiring at Jim Barnett Park.

He married Rosalyn Berman Kline on April 20, 1968 in Middletown. She preceded him in death on February 16, 2005.

Surviving are his children, Guy Kline and his wife Laura of Winchester and Kim Sullivan and her fiance Gabe of Woodbridge, VA.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kitty Hahn-Campanella officiating.
