William Virgil Bridgeforth, 89, of Winchester, died Friday, October 5, 2012, at Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Bridgeforth was born February 14, 1923 in Nottoway County, VA, the son of Thomas King Bridgeforth and Lilly Emma Draucker Bridgeforth.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked in security with FEMA until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of Braddock Street United Methodist Church.
Mr. Bridgeforth, "Billy", enjoyed his neighbors and kept his sweet, happy ways and sense of humor throughout his life. One of his greatest pleasures was having breakfast every day with the ìcoffee groupî in Winchester.
He married Audrey Lloyd on February 12, 1971 in Berryville, VA. Mrs. Bridgeforth preceded him in death.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Shenandoah Memorial Park with Rev. Kirk Nave officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.
