Esther Barbara Minars, 79, of Strasburg, formerly of Front Royal, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 30, 2012, at Greenfield Senior Living in Strasburg.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by The Rev. P. G. Coverstone. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Minars was born September 29, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Harvey C. and Bernadine Esther Fauerbach Brown. She was married to the late William J. Minars, Jr.
Mrs. Minars had a love of music which she felt was a gift from God that she should share with others. She played piano and organ for over 70 years and violin for 15 years. She was the church organist and a member of Happy Creek United Methodist Church and Riverton United Methodist Church. She also played piano and organ locally and for many other churches, nursing homes, and senior centers.
Mrs. Minors worked for the Department of the Navy in Washington, D.C., was a ward clerk for the Warren Memorial Hospital operating room, and was active as a volunteer for Warren Memorial Hospital. She had a great love for her cats, especially her little sweetheart Diana.
Surviving are her son, Paul W. Minars; a cousin, Doris Hollowell of Downingtown, Pennsylvania; and two dear friends, Charlene Puffenberger of Stephens City and Tina Maddox of Strasburg.
